FISEGO and Panasonic Industry: Technology partnership for smart power strips
German start-up and global electronics leader join forces for enhanced fire safety and energy management

Panasonic Industry Europe announces a strategic collaboration with FISEGO Holding GmbH. The innovative start-up based in Hesse, Germany, is setting new standards in fire prevention with its advanced fire protection systems and smart power strips featuring integrated safety technology. A key component of these next-generation devices is Panasonic Industry’s polarized DW-YL relay.

The already available FISEGO EINS automatically cuts off the power supply in the event of technical faults or imminent fire hazards and sends a real-time alert to the user via the associated app. This not only protects property but, more importantly, safeguards human life. The 20A relay stands out for its high inrush current capability of up to a 320A, making the power strip suitable for almost any load scenario. The latest iteration of the DW relay has been structurally optimized: enhancements, including improvements to the contact materials, ensure the contacts do not weld – even when switching capacitive loads with high inrush currents. The smart sockets are VDE-certified and offer a wide range of applications, from protecting large appliances to integration in smart home environments and industrial settings. Notably, FISEGO’s sockets are the only smart sockets worldwide to hold a VDE certification. This is a testament to the rigorous safety standards they meet.

FISEGO’s products are distinguished by the use of sustainable materials that offer excellent energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact and lower operating costs. Panasonic Industry’s relays contribute significantly to these benefits. Their highly efficient polarized drive system optimizes energy consumption, reduces the overall system power demand of the power strip and extends the product's lifespan. This also results in reduced heat generation within the housing, which, combined with the compact footprint of the DW-YL relay, supports stringent space-saving design requirements.

The partnership brings together FISEGO’s innovation and agility with Panasonic Industry’s longstanding expertise in technology and service. “Smart safety technologies require highly reliable components, and that’s exactly where our DW-YL relays come into play,” explains Florian Becker, Product Manager Relay Electronics at Panasonic Industry Europe. “It has been a real pleasure to work alongside this young team of founders and use our experience to help bring new ideas to life. From early lab testing and prototype qualification to pilot production and the final product, it is always exciting to see a vision become reality.”

“You rarely encounter such high-quality customer support. From the very beginning, communication was on equal terms,” says Fabian Goedert, Managing Director of FISEGO Holding GmbH. “Our mission is to combine cutting-edge technology with safety in order to meet the modern demands of smart homes and energy management. That is why it was so important for us to integrate a relay we could truly rely on. Despite our different company backgrounds, we share a common goal of setting the highest quality standards, and that is exactly what strengthens our partnership.”

The regional collaboration has proven to be an additional advantage, as short distances and personal contact have enabled efficient product development and faster time-to-market. “Short delivery routes give us the flexibility and agility that are extremely important to us,” says Goedert. The cooperation with Panasonic will not be limited to the current power strip. FISEGO plans to equip all future socket models with Panasonic relays and also intends to rely on Panasonic technology for integrating its fire protection system into other electrical appliances, such as dryers, washing machines, ventilation systems, refrigeration units and milling machines.
